ITO staff Chantelle Verhey and Melinda Minch are travelling to Vienna, Austria to present on and support discussion around the POLDER Federated Search at the 2023 Arctic Summit Science Week, taking place 17-24 February 2023.

The Arctic Summit Science Week (ASSW) is organized by the International Arctic Science Committee and is widely considered one of the most important annual gatherings of the arctic research community, spanning policy, practice, and partnership. This year, the ASSW is hosted by the Austrian Polar Research Institute and includes a Science Symposium.

Chantelle will be presenting in the Science Symposium on Thursday, 23 February 2023. Her presentation, “The Polar Federated Searches Impact on Data Mobilization and Discovery”, is the first presentation within the session “Principled Data and Information Sharing in the Era of the Anthropocene”, ID:42, starting at 8:00 CET. The presentation will include an overview of the progress the POLDER Federated Search has made to date, the technologies used in registration in the search, the best practices documentation, and the impacts and benefits to the arctic research community as well as the wider scientific community.

Registration is still open for ASSW 2023 for in-person and online participants. Full conference and single day registration is available, as well as reduced registration costs for early career researchers who are students or within 5 years of their most recent awarded degree and Indigenous participants.
