SUMMARY:Evaluating Dataset AI Readiness for Data Repositories: Consideratio
 ns and Approaches - October 3
DESCRIPTION:In this 3-hour workshop\, participants will be given an introdu
 ction to the ESIP AI Data Readiness Checklist which encapsulates consider
 ations for data quality\, documentation\, access and preparation. Followin
 g rounds of review and discussion for each of these checklist categories\,
  participants will be invited to take part in a pilot exercise to apply th
 is checklist to datasets in their own repositories. A brief synopsis of ot
 her AI-readiness related developments will be presented towards the end.\n
 \nThe workshop will be delivered in English\, and offered at two repeat se
 ssions to support a wider spectrum of geographical time zones. This is the

 ng.\n\nThe workshop will be delivered by World Data System International T
 echnology Staff\, in coordination with the ESIP Data Readiness Cluster.\n\
 nTarget Audience: We are soliciting participation from data repository rep
 resentatives who are involved with curating metadata and datasets (or prov
 isioning of tools for that curation). Data providers and consumers are als
 o welcome\, although the emphasis will be on assisting data repositories i
 n their pursuits to deliver data in an AI-ready fashion. We aim to have re
 presentatives from diverse data repositories\, especially in terms of disc
 iplines and geography.\n\nDesired Outcomes:\n\n 	repository staff are incr
 easingly familiar with AI-readiness considerations for datasets\;\n 	feedb
 ack is obtained regarding the clarity\, applicability\, and efficacy of th
 e ESIP AI Data Readiness Checklist\;\n 	a subset of participants are inter
 ested to participate in the pilot implementation exercise that will start 
 after the workshop\;\n 	insights are gained as to how the checklist can be
 come machine-actionable in the future to automate validations.\n\nExpectat
 ion of Participants: Participants are encouraged to attend and actively en
 gage in discussions at one of the workshops. It is suggested that particip
 ants have datasets from their data repository on hand for cross-checking p
 urposes during the discussions\, although this is not essential. Participa
 nts will be asked to complete a survey post-workshop\, and to optionally p
 articipate in the follow-on pilot implementation exercise that will be des
 cribed during the workshop.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nTo attend\, please register thro
