About
The World Data System (WDS) is an Interdisciplinary Body of the International Science Council (ISC; formerly ICSU). The WDS is comprised of 2 offices: The International Technology Office, based in Victoria, BC Canada, and the International Programme Office, based in Knoxville Tennessee, USA.
The ITO was formed in late 2018 with the mission to build trustworthy and enduring global research data infrastructure for the public good. You can read more about our work on the What We Do page.
WDS members
The ITO’s role is to help WDS members build data infrastructure for global research. A full list of members can be found on the IPO website.
Hosting
The ITO is hosted by Ocean Networks Canada (ONC) at the University of Victoria Queenswood Campus, NRC’s Canadian Astronomy Data Centre, and the University of Waterloo’s Canadian Cryospheric Information Network/Polar Data Catalogue.
